A Christmas List and Tooth #4

Sunday morning we grabbed our markers, holiday catalogs, glue and scissors and went to work on a Christmas list.  I wrote and she cut and pasted the pictures of as many as we could find. This list is for Santa and I am sure he knows the items I already might or might not have bought thus far :)

Seriously..spongebob #1?

Don't worry there is still one more slot in case she has forgotten anything :)

The list will graciously hang on our card garland next to the letter she received from Santa this summer when she wrote a note to advise him we would not be going to the North Pole to see him this year as we did not take our annual summer trip to Fairbanks.  He graciously sent a letter back not to fret.

On St. Nicholas Eve (Dec. 5) we will roll up our list and put it in a boot and leave it for Kevin the Elf to take back to Santa.  He then leaves a few goodies on Dec. 6th in the vacant boot.

Pretty much finished with our Christmas decorating and will do a post on all soon.

Been skating every Saturday with buddy Kayla.  They are busy getting ready for their Christmas show in Dec.

This one was wiggled and wiggled one evening as she was sure that she would swallow it if she went to bed with it in this condition.

We have another front one that is about to go too.

Lots of Christmas projects are in the making and desperately need to finish her advent stockings that I should have had done months ago.  I love Christmas.

A Snow Day

There was a Snow Day on Monday...

the kind where you could actually go out and have some fun.

Like pelt trees with snowballs kind of fun.

Come in for drippy hot chocolate kind of fun.

Amelia lost her front tooth this past week.

Tooth fairy brought her this:

and yes we began our Christmas decorating...

and grabbed some tools as our tree once again needed modifications...

then we needed some quiet cozy time gazing out the window.

Christmas time is here :)

My Sister's Visit

My sister Donna came for a short visit before Halloween.  Unlike her previous visits...Amelia now is in school, however she had a couple half days and had Friday off, so we got to do some nearby adventures.

First up a walk on the Coastal Trail.

We picked up Amelia at 12:30 and headed to Anchorage on a glorious day.

Then headed to Moose's Tooth for the 3rd best pizza in the United States.

We headed to the Moose's counterpart...the Bear's Tooth Theatrepub the day after for dinner and the 3D movie version of Inside Out.  I had never been, so it was new to me too.  Get to sit and watch the movie and have your pizza type food served to you.  Amelia loved it ... and didn't mind these 3D glasses...she doesn't like the paper kind :)

Up next was the Alaska Zoo.  What can we say...we love the zoo.

Figured it would be packed as it was a Friday and the kids had off from school.  Hardly anyone there.

Amelia even got a kiss from the seal.

When we got in the car Amelia asked if she could close her eyes for a bit...she slept for 2 hours, so I headed up to Flattop Mountain for some scenery (first photo is from there).  No, we did not hike the mountain, although Donna probably would have.  We only made it to the parking lot :)

Anchorage and Mt. Susitna or The Sleeping Lady in the distance.

We headed home for a salmon dinner, with Amelia sleeping the whole way.

Our last adventure was the Anchorage Museum.  Again, one of our favorite places.  It had been a long time since Donna had been, so much was new to her.

We headed down to a semi new restaurant, The Rustic Goat, after 4 hours of the museum and a show at the planetarium.  We hit the lunch menu even though it was 4:00, so will have to try it again to see what dinner is like.  Food was good though!

Sunday we spent inside playing as Donna was leaving that evening.

Not a long trip and quite different now that Amelia is in school, but a fun filled week nonetheless!
