Handmade Gifts and Our Christmas Card

Although we are in Valentine's mode I realized I hadn't posted on a few other goodies we put together.

I had folded them up and wrapped them in twine before realizing I had to get a few photographs...hence the wrinkle :)

The process is really quite simple.  For the polar bear I cut out onto cardboard clipart I found on the the web (I picked something simple) and traced it with a fabric marker on the flour sack towels that I purchased on Amazon in bulk.  I printed out the lettering and put that underneath and traced it with the same marker.  Then Amelia used fabric crayons to color in the bear with the northern lights.  You iron (to set the ink), you wash and then iron again.  Ta Da.

We made the polar bear for pretty much everyone not living in Alaska.  Amelia made a hand drawn one for her Grammy and her teacher.   We made a stamped leaf for our neighbor and a stamped snowflake for her dance teacher that I didn't take photos of ... I will blame that on the flu :) Tied them all with twine and used a wood tag that I had on hand.

Her teacher stocking was jammed with goodies.  We used glittery silver puff paint to write her name on the stocking.

Each of her classmates received one of these:

Finally, our Christmas Card (I swear I posted this!):

This is one she gave to her gym teacher that she signed personally :)

The photos are actually form last year's trip to the Reindeer Farm.

Enough of Christmas (gasp! did I say that?!...only 337 days left to go :)  Will have a post on a bit of our Valentine's doings, as well as,  other adventures next time.

Since Christmas

We are all on the mend from a flu that lasts forever.  Luckily or unluckily, it occurred during Christmas vacation where we could rest, relax and do what Amelia loves most...staying home and playing :)

with her new campfire set...

and build legos...

chubby puppy racing...

and Osmo games.

As the days went by, we all felt better...so we broke out the Pie Face game....

and even felt well enough for Bean Boozled...

and thanks to a friend who sent this....

drank candy water from a toilet...the Japanese have a way with novelties.

We ventured outside on a not so cold day to play in the snow and sit in our fort...

and by the end of the week...we felt good enough to see friends for hot chocolate (they are patiently waiting)...

and finally get together with friends and neighbors for gift exchanges...

Routine starts Monday and I am in a love hate relationship with that.  I do need to get some cleaning done, but will miss playing all day with my best buddy.

Next:  A few more handmade gifts we tackled for Christmas.
