'Twas Christmas 2018

'Twas the Night Before Christmas,

Amelia was ready

She hung up her stockings,

got ready for beddy;

Cookies and milk for Santa she gave

in hopes that St. Nick would venture this way;

We put out our presents,

filled up her stocking,

and during the night something happened quite shocking;

More presents were added her stocking from Santa,

was filled to the brim and we knew what had happened.

Santa Claus came,

and he left a short letter, for Amelia to see, get up she'd better.

I heard her exclaim at 4 in the morning, It's Christmas! It's Christmas! I'm coming! I'm coming!

To her stocking she ran

read her note on the table,

opened each gift,

each package if able;

Dad was ready and in the festive of spirits,

time for the presents,

rip open

and tear it;

Fluffy ones,

horses,

stuffies

and more,

There was even a kitchen with an opening door;

so many delights,

in boxes

and bags.

Lego,

McKenna,

and treasurers with tags.

A book of her Loved Ones,

a cup for her Dad,

a mug for me, my favorite of all;

She played with her toys,

ate dinner and said,

“Best Christmas of All” and headed to bed.

Merry Christmas.

November: Christmas Decorating, A Craft Fair, Kevin the Elf, Thanksgiving Day Walk and Pink Friday! Oh My!

Tree Trimming and Decorating.

It is a process...it takes days.

 But eventually the angels find their spot atop of the trees.

The decorating process inspires a list to Santa.

I organized a craft fair to raise funds for the Alaska Dance Theatre each year.   This year Amelia made lots of slime to sell.   She couldn't be there as she had ice skating, but her friend obliged showing it off.

Sold all the slime and raised a good chunk of money for ADT!

Right before Thanksgiving, Kevin the Elf showed up.  Can you spot him?  Amelia is reading his note.

Thanksgiving was quiet, just the way we like it.  Ended the day with a sunset walk with the hope the bears were to bed by now.

Next day...Pink Friday!

We headed out at 8AM for our mom and me Pink Friday adventure.  It really isn't about the shopping, but the fun we both have.  Hope it is one of our traditions we never let go of.  You can watch a video of the adventures on Amelia's Youtube channel:  Pink Friday 2018

After shopping we head to the museum for their free admission day.  Not many show up for it ... as they are all out shopping!  We take advantage of the small crowds.

A very busy December is in store...skating competitions, piano recitals and dance performance.  Stay tuned.
