Easter 2018

We have a few traditions on Easter, one is a scavenger hunt for her Easter basket from us.  When she wakes up she finds one egg with the first clue inside.

I did video for most of the scavenger hunt and will eventually get that posted, but for now you can see the gears spinning! There are 10 eggs and clues that do take some thought ... and takes her up and down and all around. 😏

She finds it eventually....favorite gift...her new compass to add to her collection.  Equipped with a sundial.

Next,  it was off for the second tradition! If the weather permits the Easter Bunny hides eggs and her big basket outside.   In very early Easters and deep heavy snow, he wiggles his way in and hides them in the house...we were lucky (or unlucky) this year!

And look what was all around the yard...

Bunny tracks!  There must be a LOT of eggs!

She found the coveted Glitter Egg hidden amongst the patio furniture bundled in a corner (to prevent them being flung here and there in Fall/Winter 100 mph winds) .... it took her some effort to get that one. 😏

After some intense searching, she finally found her basket from the Easter Bunny...boy is he tricky.

Time to warm up the toes and check out the goods.

Since Amelia will eat chocolate, but not tons and definitely not in the morning...it will take her a long time to get thru this...

Eventually, all the excitement takes it toll.

A busy April and May are upon us with concerts, dance performances and end of school events, so check back often!

Baking, Painting, Spring Break and Easter Prep

The weeks between birthday and Easter were busy...doing these kind of things...

...using her new telescope to spy on neighbors horses....

and playing...Watch Your Mouth game.

Amelia didn't want to go anywhere for Spring Break...only wanted to stay home and play with friends...fine by me.

Did a lot of baking and cooking...

And tons of painting...

That included an impromptu Art Exhibit after a bath one evening..

.

Dad bought back all the paintings for $50.

Then Easter was around the corner...we dyed eggs...

...made goody bags for dance friends...

and classmates...

And a very special one for her teacher.

Lastly, her Spring 2nd Grade pics came in...obviously growing way too fast.

Next:  Easter is Here!
