November: Christmas Decorating, A Craft Fair, Kevin the Elf, Thanksgiving Day Walk and Pink Friday! Oh My!

Tree Trimming and Decorating.

It is a process...it takes days.

But eventually the angels find their spot atop of the trees.

The decorating process inspires a list to Santa.

I organized a craft fair to raise funds for the Alaska Dance Theatre each year.   This year Amelia made lots of slime to sell.   She couldn't be there as she had ice skating, but her friend obliged showing it off.

Sold all the slime and raised a good chunk of money for ADT!

Right before Thanksgiving, Kevin the Elf showed up.  Can you spot him?  Amelia is reading his note.

Thanksgiving was quiet, just the way we like it.  Ended the day with a sunset walk with the hope the bears were to bed by now.

Next day...Pink Friday!

We headed out at 8AM for our mom and me Pink Friday adventure.  It really isn't about the shopping, but the fun we both have.  Hope it is one of our traditions we never let go of.  You can watch a video of the adventures on Amelia's Youtube channel:  Pink Friday 2018

After shopping we head to the museum for their free admission day.  Not many show up for it ... as they are all out shopping!  We take advantage of the small crowds.

A very busy December is in store...skating competitions, piano recitals and dance performance.  Stay tuned.

Halloween 2018

First, a photo shoot at home.

She decided on Mal from Disney's Descendants for her costume.  Underneath:  4 layers of clothes and a winter skirt too.  2 pair of gloves and a purple hat.  If Mal lived in Alaska, I am sure she would wear the same.

Then it was off to her friends house for some trick or treating!

The traditional pose before the night begins.

They head to the house next door first, where another photo shoot ensues.

They give out full sized candy bars.  A great way to start the night!

Then off they go!

This house is always a must stop, for obvious reasons.

On our journey, we met up with Big Bird!

And this guy...

As the night progressed...

...feet got cold, bags were heavy and they called it a wrap.

Since our house is on the side of a mountain, we have never gotten a trick or treater, so Amelia LOVES giving out a few treats before we head home...

...and count the candy!

Do I dare say it...BRING ON CHRISTMAS!!!!!!
