Last Day of School and A New Obsession

It has been a very different year for Amelia.  New school, new friends.  It was an end of the year to remember.

She attended her first school dinner and dance.

and just like that...

Back in December Amelia thought long and hard about continuing with ice skating.  She had never done an organized sport and said she would like to try softball and said "I think I might be good at it." A month before school ended ... I signed her up.  She has been obsessed.

This particular game she didn't pitch, but usually pitches for an inning.

Next:  Horseback riding

The Ohana Birthday Party

Amelia had no idea that our trip to NY for Spring Break was really her Surprise Birthday Party with my family...her FIRST EVER! I really can't believe I didn't spill the beans as it was in the works since January. She was so excited and so happy that it was hard to leave. Best Birthday Ever.

Amelia figured this was just a quick Spring Break trip to NY to visit her family. She met Maisy for the first time.

She hung out with cousins while I "helped Uncle Don paint his house" with all of her other cousins.

After a long day of "painting" we had a drink and snack at 315 where Andrea showed her love for Maisy as well.

Truth be told...I planned a surprise party for her with help from all my nieces and nephews. It has been a tough year for Amelia...she needed her fam.

Put up over 100 photos around the house that kids had to find particular photos to win prizes. Marshmallow toss...a scavenger hunt and Wink were a few of the games.

The waffle fruit bowl was a hit.

The cake was fantastic!

Presents...

Presents...

and more...

Presents.

Then the crazies took over.

Spent some birthday money at Target the next day.

Home in a couple hours with a direct flight. Back to Dad who was holding the fort!

Easter

This only took me two months to post 😏. In my defense, I thought I had.  I figured I would do a post on end of school, but realized I was much farther behind than I thought.  I hadn't posted Easter OR her Surprise Party in NY Without further ado...here is our Easter.  Will post her party right after this one.

Easter egg dying with no frills.  It must me our traditional way with egg cups and box dye.

They always turn out similar to previous year, but each one unique and never the same.  Amelia loves tradition.

Easter morning she was presented with a clue, one of many, that leads all around the house to her Easter basket from us.

Then it is off to the races to find the Easter Bunny's basket and hidden eggs.

In Alaska...we usually have snow. This was a pleasant change.

Finally found her Easter Basket in an empty flower pot.

Once all eggs that are going to be found are, it is time to open up all her goodies!
