Adventures continued to Fort Ricky Discovery Zoo. I never visited this park until now...wish I had...it was fantastic! My brother and his kids and my sister joined Amelia and I on a hazy, hot afternoon and even with the heat, they had a blast.
Amelia and Abby became quick pals.
The park is filled with animals to feed, including a walk in deer petting area that I doubted Amelia would even go into ...
I was wrong.
A couple of playgrounds adorn the zoo as well.
Peacocks roam free.
The hit of the day was a special presentation of the baby goats where an adult could put the baby goat in a child's lap to hold. Amelia attempted it, but felt safer down on their level.
We headed back to my sister's after for lunch and a romp in her glorious garden.
The following day we headed to see Cousin Adam at the University of Albany where he plays football. I scheduled a boat ride on the Dutch Apple for an Albany sightseeing cruise.
I would only do the cruise once as it wasn't anything to write home about, but not sure a cruise on the Hudson near Albany could ever be something to write home about :) It was fun though to be with the family, that included a good arm wrestling match.
The ride home tired everyone except Amelia.
Lots of other adventures too in our last week of the family vacation...
Lunch with Cousin Andrea in Baldwinsville at Olive's Eatery. Super cute little shop and a very tasty lunch. The menus were art on canvas and our check came in a watering can.
Bought a pair of earrings too! ...
Dinner at BC's in Armory Square with my niece Liz and her boyfriend, Ryan, who became fast friends with Amelia. Her milk came in a to go coffee cup that she just loved ...
More bonfires...
Cousin time with my nephew Steven's kids, Conor, Calleigh and Ciara on their backyard swing set that included ice cream! ...
Shopping in Skaneateles where Amelia spotted a dress and of course had to put it on immediately and a few Instagram pics that included a Godzilla looking frog on the barn fence...
Swinging and Fireworks at Gillie Lake. Wasn't sure if she would head to the car when the first boom started...but all she did was plug her ears and LOVED it...
Funny cousin time with Matt and Liz on Photo Booth...
All fun must come to an end though...
But there is really... no place like home.
No planes until November when there will be more family time with the other half of her extended family :)
Happy 4th!
