Christmas is in full swing.
I am pretty sure we discuss Santa at least once a day, even pretending that I am he and leave Amelia a gift (one of her toys) wrapped up in a blanket next to her as she pretends to be asleep. We say "pretend" at least 10 times a day.
Christmas crafts are on going.
(WARNING: By reading on some of you (cough cough Donna) may reveal a Christmas gift intended for you. Continue at your own risk).
I do one of these spool wish lists each year. Well I have done 2 so far...but intend there to be lots more and eventually do a spool wish list tree for each year.
I save most of the Christmas and Halloween issues of favorite magazines and then glance thru them during the holidays. When I spotted this one in an old Martha one, I knew what to do with all the shells we have collected in Homer and Kenai. Amelia did the pinks and I did the green for her. I really think hers are better. She took much longer as she liked to peel the glue from her fingers.
This is one of our salt dough ornaments that Amelia glittered up. We do need to find a different glue as the glitter easily flakes off. Will have more on that in a later post.
I did take a quick pic before hanging on the tree of the ornaments given to me by one of my dance students many years ago that I mentioned in a previous post. A couple needed glue mending over the years, but I sure do love them and eventually our skills in salt dough might escalate to where we could do something similar...we are hoping. :)
A glimpse of our bathroom remodel.
Going to miss the bird! Not. I began dismantling the sink when I realized...I need to take pics! Took all with my iPhone..so not as clear as they could be :P But you get the point :)
Gutted and tiled.
Then put it back together...almost.
Amelia was overjoyed to get her tub back (the only thing that we kept) as she dislikes showers immensely.
Of course, when you do a remodel of any sorts, you start thinking of all the other things you can do. Next will be the upstairs bath that will include a tub and is going to be a much bigger job than this bath. I need a break for a bit.
Still waiting for a few details to be done including peg boards for towels and a mirror from Shaker workshop. Also need to do a bit of trim as I didn't realize I needed to do the door trim to match before we cut the other...get out the stain again.
Lastly, we are looking for a shaker style cabinet to go between the sink and the toilet for a little bit of storage as we got rid of a gigantic storage vanity.
Will give an update when everything arrives.
Finally...a pic of what I found in Amelia's dollhouse one afternoon. Reminds me of a Wierbinski Christmas...find your place and don't step on anyone...there are even dogs roaming about :) Going to miss them dreadfully this holiday, however, so excited to have Amelia at home for the ever so important Christmas morning.
