Peter Pan with Extras

It's Mother's Day morning and I am anxiously awaiting Amelia to rise.  She has something hidden to give to me that she's been talking about for some time.  It's her excitement that is my present.

Yesterday she awoke and curled up on the couch to watch a few morning cartoons with dad before a busy day that awaited her.  The hair, glazed eyes ... I couldn't resist grabbing my camera.

She was ready to take on a birthday party and hours of dance.  Her dance school was having a sampler of classes (Hip Hop, Cheer and Tumbling) for kids to come in and try.  Her friends joined her for Hip Hop and that is all we had planned to do, but Amelia insisted she REALLY wanted to do the next one...then the next one...3 hours later and she said she LOVESSS...tumbling.    But more on that another time.

Amelia and I headed downtown to see Peter Pan this past weekend...just us girls.

First, lunch at the Glacier Brewhouse, where decisions had to be made.

Pizza it is.  That's my Salmon Salad Wedge in the foreground.  Deliciousness.

And some shopping.  Where Amelia said sadly "Oh look Mom, the artist made a mistake and tried to fix it".  On the walrus the tusk looked a bit odd. "It's ok", she said "It's still nice.  We all make mistakes".

Amelia loves the tourist shops.  Since she is probably the most arduous about ever leaving Alaska, it is not surprising.  She is an Alaskan girl...and stated "I am going to live in this house when I have a family".  Wow.

The show was great.  Although not my personal favorite (I did not tell Amelia this), Amelia though was thrilled.

Beauty and the Beast next year.

We headed to the Cake Studio for an after show dessert.   Again, decisions had to be made.

Grasshopper Oreo Cupcake.  Our Mother Daughter date came to a close.

Next:  We have been diligently working on teacher and class gifts...you'll see.
