A NY Summer Part 2

I grew up going to Webster's Pond as a kid.  It used to be we would throw our cup of food out and call it a day, but now they have made a path all around the pond to stroll.

We met my friend Chelsea there and got to meet her new daughter, Lia.  The kids loved it.

We spent half our time at my brother in law's and half the time with my niece Kate and her family.

At Uncle Don's the youngest just graduated high school, but when we were there all the oldest came over with their kids and it seemed to be bursting with young life again :)  Of course, with all the silliness that comes with it.

Sometimes...you need to roll in the mud and get dirty.

At Kate's we dog walked....

Went to the movies...

and had ice cream.

There was slippin n' slide ...

....cruising....

...and quiet time...

July 4th brought the whole crew together yet again....

...take note that Amelia fell off the car 5 minutes later...she was fine but....

this guy was towed for reckless endangerment.

Fun was constant...all day.  It was dusk and eyes were being rubbed so we said it was plenty dark for the sparklers and a bonfire :)

Eyes were shut the minute they hit the pillow.  Good thing as it was time to head to The Wild with my nephew and his kids!

We have been once before when it first opened, but I still like the zoo better.

More hands on action here though as you got to hold a kangaroo...

..and feed a baby giraffe.

Then, after a three and a half week journey...it was time to head home.

Three and a half weeks is months to a 7 year old.

Regardless of the wonderful time we had... you want your own bed, your own toys and most importantly (after 3 planes and midnight in Alaska)...you get to see...

Dad.

Thanks for the great time and memories Wierbinski and Naples fam.  See ya next year.

Coolness In a $4 Pair of Shades

Fresh out of college with a graphic design degree in hand, my nephew Matt needed to update his website with a few new pics and asked if I wouldn't mind taking a some for him...I jumped at the chance!

It was a hot, but sunny, morning and I was hoping to find an interesting building in downtown Camillus.  Didn't take us very long as the first building we saw was the old Camillus Cutlery building...and it was getting a facelift.

Amelia had to jump in, after all she was kind enough to hold lens caps and cameras in the heat.

Spotted a white wash house across the street and quickly grabbed a few there too.

I was so happy on how they came out!  Sometimes I just cross my fingers and hope photos come out spectacular, as I am far from being the photographer I would like to be, but when someone depends on you...you tend to sweat a little and it wasn't from the heat.

In contrary, there is no sweating about Matt's pending success, he is a natural...a go getter...and one of the kindest people you will ever meet and absolutely adored by the locals.  You can find his website here:  Matt Wierbinski

A NY Summer Part 1

I had visions of grandeur...daily posts of our adventures in NY, but sometimes when living the adventure, priorities tend to change.

We were gone 3 1/2 weeks.  To a 7 year old that feels like months.   So happy to get there and so happy to be home is our motto.

We began the trip by getting in at 1 AM to surprise my youngest niece Andrea.  She thought we were going to miss her graduation and get in the following Monday.   Surprise!   It was caught on camera but it looks a bit like a scary movie than a surprise.  Will get that on youtube eventually.

Olivia and Cole showed us their new house at the party before the party and ended up in...the... shower?

There was favorite uncle worship...

and photos before dinner.

Many laughs were had at Andrea's expense.

Of course there was more than the graduation....there were baseball games ...

... and cousin catch up time.

Not to mention...a new puppy.  Well not for us...for my niece Katie and her family.  Welcome to the fam, Piper.

We visited friends where we got a Henna tattoo and loved it.

We strolled Skaneateles with the graduate and ate lunch at the Sherwood Inn, one of our favs.

There was swinging, swimming and sand sculpting with my sister Donna at Gillie Lake...

and the zoo, build a bear and a carousel ride.

Not to mention selfies, snapchat and strawberry eating.

And that was just the first week and a half.

Much more to come.
