We went back and forth on what age should a girl get their ears pierced? I had heard getting ears pierced as a baby leads to lopsided ear rings later on, so that was out. Five? Six? Seven? Those went by without Amelia really asking to have them done. By 8 she wanted to but was a bit afraid and needed a pact with her cousin to have them done together in the summer when we visit. When her cousin braved up and had hers done on a random trip to the mall...it was Amelia's turn to take the plunge.
She needed the help of her friends.
She was getting sweaty palms...but it was as easy as...
One..
Two ...
Three.
No tears ... not even a flinch. "That's it?!!" was all she had to say and it was off to dinner to celebrate with her buddies.
This rite of passage...complete.
