Halloween Playdate 2019

Our annual Halloween Playdate did not disappoint even though we weren't in our house on the hill.

Although we couldn't help but miss one of the "usuals" (Amelia's friend Summer moved this past year), they all came prepared for some Halloween fun.

After the party Amelia said "This house just isn't as spooky as ours."   Even with the body ready to be buried (just an old comforter wrapped up in plastic bags), it didn't feel as eerie.  Probably the fear of a bear surprising you at any moment...lowers the scare factor.  The rental just doesn't have that "house on a hill" feel.  Regardless...party we must!  You can see other Halloween Playdates here: 2016 2017 2018

THE DEVILISH DISHES

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

With the oreo starting on your forehead, one needs to move it to your mouth without letting it drop ... or using your hands.  See...he is not using his hands. hahaha.

After each game...a hand in the cauldron was needed to pick a prize.

There were tattoos given by a one arm tattoo lady.

Zombie Skittles where one skittle was not like the others!  Note:  Had to order these on Amazon.

Monster Pong...or Groot Pong more appropriately.

All the ghoul's favorite... Wrap the Mummy.

And finally, at the end of the evening you must go thru all the goodies you pulled from the cauldron!

Happy Halloween!

More to come on our Halloween Adventures!

So Far This Fall

We have settled into our rental while the 6 month earthquake remodel begins on our house on the mountain.

We could have waited til after the first day of school to move, but Amelia said we needed first day pictures at the new house...so we remember.

Unfortunately, while taking those pictures, I locked us out of the house.  I didn't have my keys or purse, but luckily she had her backpack.  After a couple panic calls...one of her best buddies mom came to save us and all ended perfectly!

They began the demo immediately and we had to go check it out.

It wasn't pretty and it will only get worse before it gets better.

I will do a whole post on all of it eventually.

The first field trip of the school year took us out to Campbell Creek Science Center

Learned all about a healthy water shed.

We also had a visitor from my past!  A parent to three of my students when I owned a dance school back in NY was passing thru for his work.  We had to show him Alaska in a day.  First up was Snow City Cafe for a hearty breakfast.

Then off to Byron Glacier in Portage, Alaska

Bird Point on Turnagain Arm

Alyeska in Girdwood, AK

Ended with dinner at Seven Glaciers at the top of Alyeska.

We will expect him to return along with his wife for a proper tour, but it made us think that one day is really a punishment!  You will only leave wanting more!  This posed the question..what would you do with only one day in Anchorage?

Fall has arrived in Alaska and we are beginning to think about Halloween...stay tuned.
