I had heard of this museum
since I arrived in AK 9 years ago today (on my niece’s birthday so I wouldn’t
forget…I also opened my dance studio on the day she was born 9/10/90…she must
be special! Oh my gosh has it been 22 years????!!!!! ) I digress.
For some reason I just
never got around to going to this museum.
Thursday that changed. It is a
rather small place, but perfect for Amelia and perfect for us as there was no
one else there when they opened at 10am.
Lots of hands on exhibits which she loved.
She loves rocks and there were plenty of fossils and rocks to touch or try to pick up.
quite a few stuffed animals and dinosaur bones too
There is many kid interactive exhibits too, hula hoop was a favorite
But after an hour or so her body language told me it was time to go :)
Again, not a huge museum, but certainly well worth the $5 it cost to get in. We purchased a few rocks for souvenirs for support. It seems like a mom and pop operation and they are doing a lot for a little. Will be back.
It has been a very nice weekend here (chilly in the am but warm in the afternoons) so Amelia has been taking advantage of her sand box. We have been digging for dinosaur bones!
