Pre-School Picnic and More Teacher Gifts

Our final day of pre-school was Wednesday and a picnic ensued on Friday.

Lots of fun, followed by a presentation by her teachers.

They gave each student a notebook with work they did thru the year.  It included a cd and a book for them...it is simply fantastic.

She played with it all day and now I am in the process of duplicating it so she has her book to play school with and I have a very beautiful keepsake.

Couldn't have picked a better place or a nicer group of people.

I made them all a mug filled with a few select chocolates and a gift card.

Made them as I did with the dish in the previous post, however, this time I had vinyl letters of their first name and used my gold oil pen to to "dot" all the way around.  Oh!  I made peanut butter dots and brownie dots for the picnic too.  Make as you always would but use a round small cookie cutter to cut the dots!  Grrr....was in a rush and didn't take pics.

Then I just hand wrote their names on back and "signed" the bottom  with Amelia's name and date.  Baked as before ... 350 for 30 minutes and let cool in oven.  I really didn't want to do coffee mugs...but these were too snazzy to pass up. :)

Lastly, I was busy doing what I am sure was a chore and realized I hadn't heard "Mom" in awhile.  Hmmm.  What is she getting into I thought.

Caught her in the act.

The Dance

Saturday ... rehearsal and pictures:

Sunday...Performance.

We had a photo shoot outside before we left.  It was a glorious day.

She had to show dad to his seat as I was the class mom again and had to hang out backstage for the show.  Dad was in charge of the video.  I had the camera :)

I snuck back and took a few photos before the show.

A few last minute pointers from her teacher...and it was showtime.

Yes she was on the correct step and barely looked at her teacher off to the side.  Although I did make her run thru the dance for a couple weeks ... once...every day.  :)

And she spotted me.

She did spectacular.

Her buddy Kayla was there too.  She took another Pre-ballet  class...hence different costume.

Off for some ice cream at Cold Stone!

This was the ad we placed in the program with a picture from last year's performance.

Congratulations my beautiful girl.

Teacher Gift

It is hard to believe this year is almost over.  Her dance recital is this weekend and I scoured Pinterest for ideas.  Came up with this.

My sister in law gave me a similar dish with my initials on it for Christmas last year and  I love it...figured I could do something similar...but freehand.

I purchased the dish at Target and did the artwork with a gold oil pen and then put it in a cold oven.  Baked at 350 for 30 minutes.  Then I let the dish cool in the oven before taking it out.  I love it!  The color is usually darker after baking. I wrote the Amelia's name and year on the bottom as well :)

We spent a lot of time in the cottage this past week.

Her preschool is almost done too. More on those teacher gifts later :)  She had crazy hair day on Wednesday.  Wanted to be Twilight Sparkle with blue and pink stripes with ... glitter that was hard to capture on the iPhone :)
