Back to back field trip Fridays at pre-school had us first at the ER Nature Center (previous post) then to the William Jack Hernandez Sport Fish Hatchery in Anchorage.
Alaska is all about fish, but I was stunned at the immensity of this hatchery. It's huge. There was room after room of these tanks filled with salmon and other fish in various stages of life.
Only a couple workers were seen and it kind of reminded me of movies where someone falls in a batch of acid... :) or :( depending on if villain or hero.
Afterwards, we headed to the Alaska Zoo for a playdate with friends Penny and Will and their cousins!
We arrived early to grab lunch next to the Alpacas. Alpaca whisperer she is.
Had to stop at a few familiar spots on the way back to the entrance from our lunch.
She wasn't mad in this picture...she is a wolf.
Camels and Tibetan Oxen smell.
Amelia grabbed my iPhone and took a few shots as we waited for her buddies to arrive.
And a really good one of a fly on the bench that she didn't like at all.
Then his buddy showed up.
Luckily, just then our friends showed up too.
Their mom Chelsea made an error and told everyone that Amelia was the leader and they would have to follow her.
She takes authority roles very serious. She became tour guide and occasional disciplinarian.
We absolutely love this zoo and that says a lot when you have been to the Columbus Zoo! Well...we loved that one too :)
Of course...great company helps too. No...Amelia doesn't have three hands. Will wanted a turn.
Also, did some painting this past week. This time on a larger canvas.
To be displayed proudly over my desk :) It's titled: "Flowers Growing" :)
