We were lined up at school this past Thursday, when I heard "last day of school". What?! I thought we had Friday! The school lunch menu had lunch scheduled for Friday! The lunch menu and I were wrong.
I dashed home to put a few finishing touches on Amelia's teacher and fellow classmate gifts, then headed back to drop them off. Luckily I don't procrastinate all that much! Whew! Next time I will check the school calendar.
I made the mugs for her pre-school teachers last year and they really liked them, so figured I would do the same except add a coaster!
I bought paint for glass at Walmart and tapped off a frame with painters tape, then Amelia painted them. Baked them according to the directions on the back of the enamel (350 for 30 minutes) and "viola!" a personalized present.
Amelia was pretty pleased and showed off her very unusual smile :)
Made one for her Teacher's Assistant as well and then packaged them up.
We made Cinnamon ornaments for her classmates and included a christmas cookie cutter. For the ornaments I used a cup of applesauce, 1-1/4 cups cinnamon and a tablespoon of ground cloves for the dough...baked at 200 degrees for 2 hours...made the house smell DELICIOUS! I thought a tag for the ornament was in order as after they came out of the oven Rob asked, "can I have one?".
I bought the cookie cutters in a 3 pack, each bag contained either a snowflake, a santa hat or santa's boots. I made 20 of them.
Since I have been trying to do all things Christmas in the few days we have, we headed to the Zoo for Zoo Lights with friends. I have always wanted to go, but never made it. Now it is on our must see/do on the holiday tradition list.
This is what most of the pictures looked like as they had cookies right before.
Will post that and our other adventures tomorrow. R u n n i n g .... o u t ...o f t i m e.... :P
