It was only a 4 day tag a long trip with Rob, as he was there for work, but what fun was had...here is the trip in pictures.
Goodbye Alaska...
Hello Hawaii! Direct flight kept travel time to 6 hours both ways....yeah for Alaska Airlines.
On her true birthday...we went to the beach (sans camera) and then hit the hotel pool before heading to the Honolulu Zoo.
After a bit of a rest while waiting for Dad get done with work, we headed to the Top of Waikiki for a fantastic birthday dinner...and dessert.
Next day...Hanauma Bay.
Where Amelia's tried her hand at snorkeling...
and loved it.
A late, delicious lunch at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel . Then did a bit of shopping that included Cinnamon Girl.
That evening, Amelia changed into her new dress we bought at CG, for a mom and daughter's night out. We found a concert in a nearby courtyard of Hawaiian music and ... a HULA dancer! Amelia was mesmerized.
She was even brave enough to get a picture with her.
We strolled around a bit more ...
then headed back as we needed to get up early for breakfast with my friend Stephanie. She and I worked at Alaska Dance Theatre way back when and now is a teacher in Honolulu. After a delicious breakfast at Tiki's Grill we said goodbye to Steph and walked to the Waikiki Aquarium.
While I took photos with my Nikon, Amelia took my iPhone and went snapping. She got this one...
Out to dinner that evening on the beach where Amelia slurped a smoothie Hawaiian style and spotted a turtle in the ocean (too fast for a pic). A beach walk brought us back to the hotel for our last night in Hawaii.
Had to take full advantage of the beach in the morning before heading to the airport.
Goodbye Hawaii...
will be back.
