The American Girl Experience!

As it seems a rite of passage for a young girl these days, I debated when the perfect age was to receive your first American Girl Doll.

8 seemed a good age, but are they almost out of doll playing at that age?  I sure hope not, but maybe the interest starts to fade?  Amelia certainly loves dolls and takes good care of all her toys, but is 6 too young?   Decisions.

It was decided for us.  Thanks to Oma and Aunt Natalie, we were on our way to Columbus, OH for the American Girl Experience!

Amelia had looked online days before and pretty much decided on the doll of the year, Lea.  When she made a beeline for her at the front of the store, I encouraged her to look at all the dolls first then choose.  Experienced American Girl owner, Aunt Natalie, assured me "the one you pick first is always the one you get.  There will be no changing her mind".  Right you are Natalie.  It was a done deal :)

After a few accessory purchases of a pet cat, sloth, outfit and thanks to Oma, a new doll carrier, we were off to do a bit of non-american girl shopping before our American Girl Bistro reservation.

An hour later, we were back at the AG Store for lunch...American Girl style.

You are provided a chair for your doll, so they can enjoy the experience as well :)

You get a tea cup and the napkin holder hair ties are yours to keep.

The pizza, pasta and salads were delicious and the company splendid.

After a lunch we headed out.  Yes, a little lighter in the wallet, but the quality and the experience are well worth it.

Obviously, a new tradition when we visit Ohio.
Will do our part in making the company prosper :)
