Christmas 2017 in a Christmasy Rhyme

Twas the night before Christmas and Amelia was ready.

New jammies ...

... and games, and ready for beddy.

But first a few carrots, milk and some treats,

and a note to dear Santa before she retreats.

Said goodbye to elf Kevin, last time while she's seven and hopped into bed before stroke eleven.

Then sometime at night when all of us slept...Santa stopped here, as we were still sleeping yet.

He filled all the stockings,  moved quickly I bet...

...and left all the presents, with no sign of fret.

Then 3:30 am, wee morning Christmas Day,

Amelia woke up, too early must say!

First ran to her presents only to find..

...big ones and small ones, all sorts and all kinds.

She ran to her stocking in hopes she would see...

goodies and candies and toys... OH GEE!

Mom and Dad's stocking too...so much to do.

Open more treasures, as there were quite a few!

Then up on the couch, to Daddy she flew.

with arm full of presents and a kiss for him too.

Opened the last few and a yawn did appear,

3:30 am is too early, my dear.

A quick look at her letter from Santa she read,

and then off for a nap in her cozy small bed.

She played with her presents, later that day and stayed up for fondue, delicious, must say!

Then as Christmas was ending, she sure did declare "best Christmas ever..."

and a Happy New Year!
