Would never say that this year has been hard. We had neighbors, without insurance, lose their homes due to the earthquake last year. We were merely inconvenienced.
Regardless, it was a different sort of Christmas (as was last)...in a rental with 1/2 our belongings unpacked, eagerly awaiting to return to our now earthquake fortified home.
It was a Christmas that we were once again reminded how very fortunate, thankful and lucky we are.

Every Who down in Whoville...
liked Christmas a lot.
On the Eve they iced cookies,
and iced cookies, made lots.
Some to eat later and some for dear Santa,
present opened early,
gave Christmas bear jamas.
They sat close together and watched Prancer now playing.
They eagerly got...
Santa's Christmas goods ready.
For we know every Who down in Whoville beneath,
was busy now hanging a hollywho wreath.
They're hanging their stockings, we happily cheer.
Tomorrow is Christmas! It's practically here!
We paused, and put a hand to our ear...
that noise, that noise, that we simply must hear!
And we did hear a sound rising over the snow.
I started in low, then it started to grow.
For all the Who girls and all the Who boys...
will wake bright and early...
they'll rush for their toys!!
Nothing can stop Christmas from coming! It came!
Somehow or other, it came just the same!
And it came with ribbons!
It came with tags!
It came in packages,
boxes,
and bags!
Every Who down in Whoville,
the tall...
and the small,
Was singing and didn't...
need presents at all!
Christmas doesn't come from a store.
Christmas of course, means much more.
Welcome Christmas. Bring your cheer.
Cheer to all Who's far and near.
Welcome Christmas while we stand,
heart to heart and hand in hand.
Hope everyone had a very very merry Christmas.
Valentine's Day awaits.
