Amelia received a KiwiCo craft box for her birthday from our friends. Waited til we moved back to our house so we could do the potentially messy craft outside and this past week was the week!
The box came with a messenger bag and 2 pieces of fabric with 3 button holes each already sewn in that can button on the messenger bag and flap over. Rubber bands, gloves, dye with bottle, bag and wooden die cuts that we ended up not using as Amelia wanted to do her traditional tie dye for one.
Shibori is a traditional Japanese dyeing technique in specific patterns.
The fabric with the 5 bunched rubber bands is one of the Shibori instructions and the fabric she is spinning with a fork is the technique she has done a few times including a t-shirt she made a school last year.
We headed outside for the dying fabric!
We let them sit in their respective baggies overnight. Then rinsed them the next day to reveal the beauty!!
Love both designs and when things get back to normal, Amelia will surely be wearing this out and about.

More crafts/adventures and more to come!

Love these, really nice! Amelia is very creative, like her mom!
