Back to NY

Like every trip I have taken since Amelia was born, I worry.  Worry she will be one of those kids screaming on the airplane,  worry she will get sick, worry she will not sleep at night in an unfamiliar bed (and keep everyone in the house up), worry...well, you get the picture.

No need.  She has been a trooper since the first trip at 3 months.  Aside from a few fits crying in the car as an infant she has been eager...excited...enthralled to travel.   Not only in 3 planes to get to where we are going...but lengthy car rides (14 hours round trip).  This trip was no different.

I have made a point to visit family and friends along the drives...breaking up the car rides as often as I can.  On our way down we had lunch with Matt...on the way back we anxiously awaited our stop at Grandma Rena's (my brother in law's mother) in Erie, PA.  So spoiled are we with homemade pasta and the feel we are royalty.

Our visit was way too brief and Amelia really didn't want to get back in the car...but I bribed her with the anticipation of picking Matt and a friend up in Fredonia for a long weekend home from college.

It makes a journey shorter catching up in the car :)

It was back to Aunt Bonnie's for a couple days of pumpkin picking (although Amelia didn't want to get out of the car)...

...carving our 2nd unicorn with Matt (the third was done here in the after vacation post of Halloween)...

(fyi..she wanted me to cut out all the dots she drew...I convinced her this unicorn needed freckles)

...snuggling with Hercules, who is the only dog I know of with lips...

...horse wrangling and opening up a shop for Rosie to come over and eat by tying grass to the gate ...

...and walks and swinging to our beloved Gillie Lake.

The weekend was upon us and it was time (once again) to pack up and head East with Uncle Don and Aaron, with my sister, Andrea and Matt following behind, to see our #74 play some college football!
