Day 2 was California Adventure early morning hour and first in line again! Our plan was to hurry and do Radiator Springs Racers first and maybe another ride before heading back to Downtown Disney for our 10:00 Anna makeover at the "Elsa and Anna Boutique".
However, we arrived to find the ride closed, so disappointedly we opted for Mater's Junkyard Jamboree instead. Since Disney has a way of making things magically happen, I suggested we head back to Radiator Springs one more time to see if they fixed it. Sure enough...it was open! AND..we got Sally for a racer! We would have just enough time to get to the makeover....WOO HOO!
Amelia was VERY apprehensive about this ride. She refused to go on it the last time we were here and just when we had her convinced this trip, a gentleman behind us in the Dumbo line said it was too loud and scary for his granddaughter. UGH. It was an effort, but we convinced her...yet she was plugging her ears at the start just in case. We were 1/4 into the ride...and the ride stopped. UGH again! 15 minutes later we finished to an enthralled Amelia..."BEST ... RIDE...EVER!" Her lesson learned: "Listen, but don't always heed what people say...find out for yourself". THEN, in the magical Disney way...they said "feel free to ride again". Rob would have rode this all day long.
We made it just in time...
to be pampered....
...a lot.
It took an hour...
but we prevailed!
Beautiful...
...stunning....
...and another Disneyland gem to add to our list. For $35 you get the Anna look (remember it took an hour), the crown, brushes, nail polish and makeup! Not to mention the memory :)
It was time to meet Elsa and Anna!
Who admired her do as well.
Now to catch the "Frozen" show at the Hyperion! Hurry, it starts in 15 min.
I wish we did the meet and greet and the show in reverse order. If we had gotten here earlier, we would have had better seats...as this show was SPECTACULAR!
Last year, I paid $100 for Amelia and I to attend Peter Pan when it came to Anchorage. It wasn't nearly as good as this. I would have paid the admission into Disneyland just to see it.
We tried to make it back for the second show, but there is just so much to do in Disney that we didn't. Seriously, one could just watch all the performances for 3 days straight if they wanted and feel like they got their monies worth.
It was time for lunch and then do some rock climbing.
I knew they did this every day in Gym class, but I didn't realize how good she was at it!
We did about 20 spins on the Carousel too...
and enjoyed Carsland for a bit (it was their favorite)....
...before heading to dinner at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen for dinner and celebrating her birthday yet again.
We made a pit stop at Build a Bear as Rob told her that she was SOOOO good she deserved a treat...
... a one of kind Disneyland Bear. She kept saying "Dad, did I thank you for my bear?" Yes, 200 times. She didn't complain once in the 3 days we were there.
And not once did I ever have to tell her ... "go to bed".
Whew...that was a long day! Think we need to add a day 3 to this epic voyage.
Until tomorrow....
