Christmas Cards, Pie Crust Cookies and A Beautiful Tree

I think everyone has received their Christmas cards...so here they are.

It is lucky that I got these photos at all, as there has been only a couple days where snow has been on the trees.  As it was, the fog was rolling thru the mountains and obscuring our view of them.

I took these when we were heading to the Nutcracker...took about 10 minutes and my model was done.  When we returned home, the sun was setting and the mountains were crystal clear.  "Quick Amelia get your cape"!  She looked at me and said "not a chance".  Ok...guess these will do.

Inside reads:  May your Christmas be Magical (my photo cut it off and I am apparently too lazy to wait for proper light and reshoot :)

Had a bit of nervousness with preparing our CD that we include with our favorite Christmas songs of the year.  Not sure we could use the Lightscribe discs as planned...but after a bit of downloading of programs ... viola!

We also cut down a little tree for our dining room this past weekend with miss bossy.

It's not the greatest tree in the world...but it is surely the most beautiful.

And ohhh have I been busy with Christmas gifts.  I will have to wait til after Christmas to show everything, but it took me til the morning of wrapping and preparing the last packages to get shipped out to family...to finish them.  I got a bit carried away.  Oh and making tags and stickers and ... wow.  All packages are out and now only Amelia and Rob's remain to be carefully wrapped.

One morning in my hustle up and down the stairs grabbing more presents to wrap, I glanced over at our little tree..and grabbed the camera.

Opened up the blinds to see Anchorage's twinkling lights in the distance.

See...the most beautiful tree.

We made a favorite...Pie Crust Cookies...

and decorated a mini tree for Alaska Dance Theatre's tree auction.

It's the Cookie Tree.

My students always performed at the Everson Museum's Festival of Trees, way back when I owned The Eastwood Dance and Performing Arts Center in NY.  We then ventured around looking at the beautifully decorated trees throughout the museum, donated by individuals and business that were soon to be auctioned off.

Years later, working at ADT, I needed to come up with new fundraising activities.  I thought why not do a Tree Festival...and a parent added ... a mini tree festival considering the limited space.  Perfect.  This weekend will be their auction and will try to get down there for some pics :)

Amelia and I were out for a bit of last minute shopping for those folks in the lower 48 whose packages had to be sent soon.  We went to a little shop in downtown Anchorage called The Kobuk.  Amelia walked in and whispered ... this place smells like Christmas.

Lastly, Amelia wanted to paint her snowman that she received for St. Nicholas Day one dark early morning...

Stunning.

Will have a proper pic of Snowman later, as well as a proper pic of her polar bear stocking that in the last post looked rather crumpled I'd say...I was actually trying to get the photo of the advent and wasn't paying attention to the stocking.  I miss the attention to detail sometimes :)
