Saturday, Rob and I once again headed down to the Campbell Airstrip, meeting up with the Bieri Clan (Tim, Jane, Kylee and Seth) to watch the Iditarod. This isn’t the official race, but the Ceremonial race thru Anchorage where fans come out to cheer on the mushers and dogs, the real race begins Sunday in Willow. It is also a fundraiser as people from across the US put up lots of cash for a chance to be an Iditarider, where you can ride on the sled (in place of the gear) for this short race thru Anchorage.
It was another beautiful day and not too cold. Seemed like more people found out about our Campbell Airstrip spot as there were tons more people. Had a harder time finding a spot where I wouldn’t get people in my picture!
